Being declared redundant leads to a strange mixture of emotions. We question our self-worth and our confidence is dented. But redundancy can also be a Springboard to new opportunities, perhaps to doing something we have not had the chance to do before. Our Springboard Programme is ideal for people who have been declared redundant. See our Springboard page. We recommend four three hour sessions with a career counsellor to improve your chance of future success. They are flexible to your needs but can cover: Self awareness- What is it that you have to offer potential employers? What can you bring from your past experiences? What are your skills, knowledge and values and which employers do they most relate to? How can you develop a positive, confident approach? Opportunity awareness- where are the relevant jobs. How can they be accessed? Where are the adverts? Which recruitment consultants are best approached? What networks will be most helpful? Making applications- How to optimise your CV, application forms and cover letters, whether responding to an advert or making a speculative application. How to investigate relevant employers Where to find suitable job advertisements Interview coaching- Understand what recruiters are seeking in 'the best' candidate and how to put across your strengths. Learn how to answer the most difficult interview questions. Distinguish between three types of interviewer and three categories of questions. Enhace the skills needed to shine at Assessment Centres. Develop an ability to use your networks effectively in your job search Plus follow up consultations when required.
